Parent Participation

Parents are an important part of Hearts in Hand. You are welcome to visit the program at any time, volunteer and give input on policies and procedures. We encourage families to be as active in the center as possible.
Parent Committee: Our parent committee meets bi-monthly to discuss issues and problem solve . All parents are encouraged to attend. In addition, each room has a representative that attends the meetings to give input. and share class specific information. Child care is provided free of charge for meetings.
Parent Education: We offer parent education evenings for individuals wanting more information on topics related to raising children. We provide free child care for these evenings.
Parent Library: Located in the main lobby is a parent education library for your use. Parents are encouraged to check out or copy anything in the library. Books, videos and articles are available.
Parent/Child Nights: We organize parent/child activities for parents and children to come to the center for games and arts or crafts. Siblings are welcome to attend as well. Past events have included making valentines, carving pumpkins, dyeing eggs, and making kites.
Parent/Teacher Conferences: Conferences are held twice a year or as needed. Parents can ask questions, plan goals and review an assessment of their child. Families may request a conference with their child’s teacher at any time.
Family Events: Family events are held throughout the year as a time for families to come together socially. Previous examples of family events are a day at the Rockies, private swim party at City Park Pool, Pump it Up, potlucks, Trick or Treat Street and classroom parties and programs.
Parents' Day Out: The center offers evening and weekend care occasionally for parents to enjoy time together. These days are offered 6-8 time per year on Friday evenings or Saturdays. Parents can utilize care for a minimal cost.
